CELEBRATE THE ARTISTS

When: Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Where: Chateau Theater, 15 1st Street SW, Rochester, MN 55902

Rochester artists Amy Krause and Tierney Parker have recently created street murals in downtown Rochester. This art injects local culture into public infrastructure, calms traffic, and improves pedestrian safety. The murals were designed with community input from a series of engagement activities. The artists will be present to share information about their murals, background, and artistic practice, and optional walking tours of the murals will be offered. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is appreciated for planning purposes.

The City of Rochester recognizes the importance of a high-quality pedestrian experience and cultural infrastructure to the continued success of downtown Rochester. The City has been awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to enhance public passageways - downtown alleyways and crosswalks - and encourage the public to pause to experience these places, rather than just using them to get from point A to B.
