Rochester artist Joseph Alexander presents The Grand Drag Legacy of Southeastern Minnesota, a collection of oil-painted portraits of legendary drag queens who have advanced representation of the LGBTQIA+ community in Minnesota’s Driftless Area.

ARTIST RECEPTION
Sunday, August 13 | 6:30 -8:30 pm

Join us as we celebrate Joseph with a gallery reception, August 13 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Historic Chateau Theatre. Hear remarks from the artist and watch each of the queens unveil their portraits at approximately 7:00 pm. Admission is free, and all are welcome. Light refreshments are provided including beverages from Old Abe Coffee Co. Advance registration is appreciated.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Third-generation oil painter Joseph Alexander is the founder of Driftless Art Academy in Rochester, MN. Joseph studies portraiture with celebrated portrait painter, illustrator, and ARC Associate Living Master Kevin Murphy. His training also includes several years of study under classical master artist Dan Petrov. He is a member of Oil Painters of America, the National Portrait Society, and the Minnesota Artists Association. Joseph lives with his husband John and their dog Eljay.
